As touring musicians, Wietse Voermans (Vehikel, Spoken) and Ruud Voesten (Ambrosia, ROEST) have performed at many diferent unique places. In their new project 'Genius Loci' they use their stage not only as a place for performing, but make it an active participant in their compositional and improvisational proces. Stories about the location, the city or the employees, a particular set of acoustics or just a very small, tight stage all become deciding factors in the music. The main part of the music will be created in an improvisational fashion and moves between the limits of what this line up has to ofer. Loud, soft, beautiful or ugly.
For this show they team up with Daniel Bierdümpfl a former luthier of plucked & bowed string instruments, he studied time based & interactive media arts at the Kunstuniversität Linz (AT) and works as a free lance artist in the fields of music, performance, theater, choreography, poetry, film & photography. He has a wide-ranging sound palette that spans from traditional jazz to a distinctly avant-garde guitar style. A complete instrumentalist, he has a rich musical vocabulary and an honest, profound approach to his instrument.
