Collective Rest as Resistance

Collectively resting can be a political act of resistance. We invite you to slow down and gather to suspend the individualistic productivism of our society by interrupting the rhythms of extraction and hyper-productivity that shape our everyday lives. Let us explore what it means to build a collective body, a body that listens, dreams, and resists through rest. We’ll co-create a space forlying down, (day)dreaming, collective storytelling, and gentle disruption. Let's sense, connect, and become a bigger body of rest. 

We  —Juliana Acero, Stefano Cattani, Carmen Draxler, Laura Flethe and Rita Gaspar —are TogetherTogether, a research-based artistic collective based in The Hague, that works on the intersection of visual storytelling, performance, scenography and social work. We are five international artists driven by the need to resistthe alienation of living in an individualistic society by growing a collective artistic practice. Through gatherings, performances, and installations, we create spaces for collective care and counter-narratives that spark hope in a paranoiac world. 

Collectieve rust als verzet door TogetherTogether Collective 

Collectief rusten kan een politieke daad van verzet zijn. We nodigen je uit om te vertragen en samen te komen om het individualistische productivisme van onze samenleving op te schorten door het ritme van uitbuitingen hyperproductiviteit dat ons dagelijks leven bepaalt, te onderbreken. Laten we onderzoeken wat het betekent om een collectief lichaam te bouwen, een lichaam dat luistert, droomt en zich verzet door middel van rust. We creëren samen een ruimte om te liggen, te (dag)dromen, collectief verhalen te vertellen en op een zachte manier te verstoren. Laten we voelen, verbinden en een groter lichaam van rust worden. 

Wij  — Juliana Acero, Stefano Cattani, Carmen Draxler,Laura Flethe en Rita Gaspar — zijn TogetherTogether, een op onderzoek gebaseerd artistiek collectief gevestigd in Den Haag, dat werkt op het snijvlak van visuele verhalen, performance, scenografie en sociaal werk. Wij zijn vijf internationale kunstenaars die gedreven worden door de behoefte om ons te verzetten tegen de vervreemding van het leven in een individualistische samenleving door een collectieve artistieke praktijk te ontwikkelen. Door middel van bijeenkomsten, performances en installaties creëren we ruimtes voor collectieve zorg en tegenverhalen die hoop geven in een paranoïde wereld.
