Ways of mapping - Creating maps through listening to, looking and feeling the island of Brienenoord
We invite you to our exhibition about mapping the island of Brienenoord. We started our artistic research in February 2026 with a question: How can we create ways of mapping an alive place through our practices? To answer this question we met most Mondays where we talked with ecologists, slept and experienced the island during the night, walked together and exchanged our research methods with each other.
This research resulted in 5 maps. A sound-map by Celeste Wright, a film-map by Fer van der Hoff, a crochet-map by Marta Sztabińska, a bead-map by Tamara Vierbergen and a card-map by Eli Pagani and Fer van der Hoff.
The exhibition will open at 15:00 and you can join us for a delicious meal prepared by Ipek Sahin and Urvee Kulkarni at 18:00.
As part of the exhibition there will also be a free program of workshops including a discussion with experimental archeologist Diedrik Pomstra and ecologist Michael Grobbe.
