This performance is a musical dialogue between a human and Brienenoord Island, where all instruments are handcrafted from materials found on the island—clay, rocks, wood, and plants. Rather than imposing a traditional tuning system, each instrument is built while trying to keep as much as possible the natural sound and tone of the material as it was found. A. sound shaped by the land itself.
Pau Jordà (he/they) is a Valencian multi-instrumentalist and composer. With a background in jazz and Valencian folk. His work explores a range of disciplines including free improvisation, electronics, poetry, and instrument making.
