OverVloed is een eetbare installatie in de invloedssfeer van het tij. Laat je overspoelen door smaken en texturen, terwijl de rivier ons uitnodigt om stil te staan. Wat ben jij bereid aan het water mee te geven in ruil voor diens vriendschap?

Iza Smit onderzoekt hoe de ‘strijd tegen het water’ identiteit vormt.  Ze bevraagt hoe de drang om natuur te domineren voortkomt uit een hiërarchisch denken. haar werk nodigt uit om de illusie van superioriteit los te laten en te leren samenleven met het water.  Jonas Bleijverveld voert mensen eetbare verhalen. Met zijn werk belicht hij de dagelijkse context van voedsel; tafelkleed,  servies, gemeenschap en landschap. zo onderzoekt hij hoe we ons tot elkaar en onze omgeving kunnen verhouden.

OverVloed is an edible installation awashed by the tides. Let the flavors and textures flow over you, as the river invites us to reflect. What are you willing to give to the water in exchange for its friendship?

Iza Smit explores how the “battle against the water” shapes identity. She examines how the urge to dominate nature stems from hierarchical thinking. Her work invites us to let go of the illusion of superiority and learn to coexist with water.  Jonas Bleijverveld feeds  people edible stories. Through his work, he highlights the everyday context of food: tablecloths,  tableware, community, and landscape. In this way, he explores how we can relate to one another and our surroundings.
